Buttonwillow, CA 4/26/2006 Relatively early morning qualifying and races led to many interesting races on Saturday and Sunday. John Fujii triumphantly returned to S2Cup racing for a 1st place finish on Saturday. Many yellow flags and mechanical problems plagued the race. Willows, CA 3/19/2006 Ostlund was fast at the first race of the 2006 season and won on Saturday but Ferguson pipped him by a tenth of a second at the wire of Sunday's race.
12/15/05 The drivers have spoken. The 2006 S2 Cup Season will include six (6) race weekends and will allow two (2) races to be thrown away when calculating the Championship points. Buttonwillow, CA 10/30/05 Michael Scully and David Ferguson fought it out on the racetrack. Scully won both races but Ferguson secured the year-long Championship for a second year in a row.
Monterey, CA 10/1/05 Michael Scully dominated the double regional weekend at Laguna Seca, not only winning both races, but setting new qualifying and race track records in the process. David Ferguson picked up the scraps in each race.
Monterey, CA 8/7/05 Michael Scully made a triumphant return to Sports 2000 racing with a pair of wins at the Laguna Seca National/Regional races.
Portland, OR 6/11/05 David Ferguson was fast all weekend at PIR and won a damp Regional race on slicks but chose rain tires for the drier National, allowing Frank Arnold to win.
Buttonwillow, CA 4/24/05 A new guard was ushered into the 4 Flight S2 Cup when Mike Pettibone and Jason Choulochas each picked up their first 4 Flight victories. In between, Bruce Allison, Jeff Anderson, Frank Arnold, and Scott Brink were also factors up front.
Willows, CA 3/20/05 At Thunderhill Raceway Jeff Littrell took the race win on Saturday and pole position on Sunday under dry conditions while David Fergson mastered the wet to a win on Sunday. Each finished 2nd to the other and the end result was a points push.
Rosamond, CA 2/27/05 Jeff Littrell dominated the third race of the 2005 4 Flight S2 Cup season with a pole lap more than half a second below the lap record and a flag-to-flag victory under rainbow skies.

Monterey, CA 07/31/04 Jeff Littrell dominated the National and Regional races at Laguna Seca with flag-to-flag victories, putting him into the lead of the 4 Flight S2 Cup Championship.
Portland, OR 06/14/04 David Ferguson won the National Race and set a new track record at Portland while Nik Johnson took pole both days and a Regional win.
Buttonwillow, CA 05/01/04 Jeff Littrell and Joe Moran each had a 1st and a 2nd place finish at the Buttonwillow Double National weekend, with Littrell taking pole both days.
Phoenix, AZ 04/04/04 David Ferguson avoided the desert tortoise on track to take flag-to-flag victories at the Pro race in Phoenix. Joe Moran's dual 2nd place finishes puts him a tie with Ferguson in the standings so far.
Willows, CA 03/22/04 Jeff Littrell won both races at the Thunderhill Double National to jump into the points lead for the 2004 4 Flight S2 Cup.

Buttonwillow, CA 10/26/03 David Ferguson pushed his purple Van Diemen to the top of podium in the 2003 Pumpkin Run Double Regional. For his troubles he got a kiss from trophy girl Johnnie Crean.
Laguna Seca, CA 8/3/03 David Ferguson took his Van Diemen to the National pole and win. Joe Moran took 2nd, and a win in the Regional.
Sonoma, CA 7/13/03 Nik Johnson and David Ferguson drove new Van Diemens, with Johnson taking the win both days.
Portland, OR 6/15/03 John Bachofner won after Joe Moran oiled the track for the rest of the drivers in the National race. Moran came back to win the Regional on Sunday.
Buttonwillow, CA 5/25/03 John Fujii showed why he races in the SCCA Sports Racer Pro Series with a dominating showing at the 4 Flight S2 Cup's first Pro Series event. Joe Moran was the only driver giving Fujii a serious threat.
Buttonwillow, CA 4/26/03 John Fergus came out to Buttonwillow Raceway Park from Ohio and showed why he is the current and multi-time National Sports 2000 Champion. He took pole and won the race both days, and topped it all off with a new track record for configuration 25 clockwise.
Rosamond, CA 2/24/03 Chris Tryon made an unexpected return to California and won the race at Willow Springs when Joe Moran was punted off track by a Formula car while leading.

Fontana, CA 2/2/03 Joe Moran and Jeff Littrell traded wins at the season opening double regional on the roval at California Speedway. Bob Lovenson and Jeff Anderson also earned 2003 4 Flight Hats for their podium finishes.

Buttonwillow, CA 12/4/02 In an further effort to stimulate the largest possible fields of S2 drivers, the 4 Flight S2 Cup is pleased to announce the 4 Flight S2 Cup "Show Fund", rewarding regular series participants with monetary compensation. Combined with the existing Tow Fund, the Show Fund provides significant financial incentives to race in the 4 Flight S2 Cup.
  11/24/02 Jeff Littrell took pole, class and overall wins in the last race of the 4 Flight S2 Cup 2002 Season. A fast pace and quick pit work allowed him to overcome a first lap spin in the 90 minute open wheel enduro.

Buttonwillow, CA 10/26/02 David Ferguson crushed the competition on Saturday with a win over Jeff Littrell and Joe Moran at the First Anniversary race of the 4 Flight S2 Cup. Many other drivers suffered ill fate throughout the weekend.
Monterey, CA 08/03/02 Spencer Trennery won a brutally contested event at Laguna Seca, with Dave Ferguson and Chris Tryon coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Michael Scully made his debut Cup Series appearance, grabbed the pole and led most of the race before being pummeled into retiring.
Sonoma, CA 07/20/02 Chris Tryon got to keep the 4 Flight S2 Cup trophy for another couple weeks by winning round 5 at Infineon Raceway. Doug Ota took second place and fast lap with an impressive charge from last place after being late to the grid. Rob Conrad rounded out the podium when Jeff Littrell was assessed a one-position penalty for passing under yellow.
Portland, OR 06/08/02 The impressive 4 Flight C2 Cup trophy seems to have found a comfortable home in the Tryon motor coach. Chris Tyron took pole and then worked his way from 4th spot after a first turn fandango to take the win over John Brewer and Jeff Littrell in a dry-wet-dry-wet weekend in Portland.
Willows, CA 05/25/02 Chris Tryon took pole and the win at the 3rd race of the 2002 4 Flight S2 Cup at Thunderhill Raceway Park. Joe Moran and Doug Ota rounded out the podium. In the 2nd race of the double-regional weekend Tryon's motor gave out, handing the win to Moran, followed by Ota and Jeff Littrell.
Buttonwillow, CA 04/28/02 You could throw a blanket over the top three drivers in a very exciting race held at Buttonwillow Raceway Park. In the end, pole setter and race leader Jeff Littrell threw it away with a missed shift and a spin to allow David Ferguson to win, followed by Chris Tryon and then Littrell.
Rosamond, CA 02/24/02 Chris Tryon won a hotly contested battle in the first 4 Flight S2 Cup race of the season. Every spectator at the track was on their feet for this exciting race. Cars were inches from each other as drafting played a major role in the multiple lead swaps. Joe Moran, Jeff Littrell, and Chris Tryon each held the lead at various times, with Chris Keating and Doug Ota right there as well.

Buttonwillow, CA 10/14/01 The 4 Flight S2 Cup kicked off the new series with great racing, great weather, and great fun at Buttonwillow Raceway Park on October 13th and 14th. Over 20 S2 drivers competed in the event. Spencer Trenery won the main event, taking home the S2 Cup (pictured). Jeff Littrell won Sunday's race. All the racing was clean and fast, with the track record crushed by almost 3 seconds by Dave Ferguson on Saturday.

A new Series is formed for and by Sports 2000 racers. The 4 Flight S2 Club provides a fun and competitive amateur series for racing Sports 2000 racecars in SCCA Club Racing on the West Coast.

The Internet 06/11/01 An annoymous proposal for a new Sports 2000 race series was received by Cal Club Sports Racer Representative, Greg Clark, and was posted to the Sports 2000 online discussion board by Northern California S2 racer David Ferguson. Dubbed, the "Pacific Coast Sports 2000 Challenge," the proposed series was the inspiration for the 4 Flight S2 Cup. It received an enthusiastic endorsement from the drivers and the discussion thread is available for your reading pleasure.
